DASYLab SL-Edition released
The start of the year saw the launch of SL-automation GmbH & Co. KG, a sister company to the data acquisition specialist measX in Mönchengladbach. The focus of the new company lies on supporting industrial customers with PLC systems. It will be the exclusive provider of the new DASYLab SPS Edition for analysis and fault diagnosis
Users of programmable logic controllers (PLC) for machines and plants have a great need for software tools for the commissioning and maintenance of their systems. The new sister company of measX, called SL-automation, offers these customers application-specific know-how and special software products. The company was able to obtain several former employees of the company Servicelab Ltd., which is no longer active, and profits from their experience in the field of industrial controllers.
measX supports SL-automation with its expertise in data acquisition and especially with its development competence for the DASYLab software. "DASYLab is a particularly easy to use and very flexible tool for measurement data acquisition and analysis. The software is excellently suited for diagnosing faults and errors in industrial controllers and as an aid in debugging," says measX General Manager Dr. Joachim Hilsmann. The DASYLab SPS Edition was developed based on DASYLab exclusively for SL-automation. In the words of Susanne Schlegel, General Manager of SL-automation: "This is great news, especially for customers who previously worked with ServiceLab. The gap that resulted from the loss of that software has now been closed."
The DASYLab SPS Edition offers a wide range of functions for troubleshooting and fault diagnosis, debugging and documentation. In particular, logging functions make it possible to quickly identify and localize even sporadic errors. All data saved in the process image of the SIMATIC S5 and S7 as well as other controllers can be accessed. The data can be analyzed, visualized and archived as needed.
Like the base software, the PLC version of DASYLab utilizes an intuitive, graphically interactive user concept so that no special programming skills are required for making extensive use of the software. The user interfaces for monitoring, evaluation, troubleshooting and documentation can be easily customized with switches, chart recorders and other functions.
measX together with SL-automation will present the DASYLab SPS Edition in detail at this year's "messtec + sensors masters" at the SI-Centrum in Stuttgart on 20 and 21 March 2018.
